On the EDGE Conservation is a recently established not-for-profit, whose mission is to reconnect people with the wonder of the natural world in a fun, engaging, and positive way. Using innovative and cutting-edge media and technology, our ultimate objective is to develop advocates for the protection and restoration of the natural world. We are also a science-based, grant-giving organisation, engaged in advocacy work to translate increased environmentalist public sentiment, into policy change and real action on the ground. We have two major audiences, Generation Z and policy makers.
As the Sr. Manager of Social Media Storytelling Content, you will lead the strategy for all social media content marketing initiatives from concept to execution, with a focus on On the Edge Conservation’s 3D digital animated series, as well as the On the Edge Conservation’s impact work.
The role will lead the storytelling driven social media strategy to achieve our marketing and impact KPI’s. This role will be responsible for overseeing the social media content pipeline and calendar, and lead all multi-channel social media campaigns.
This position will work hand-in-hand with the Sr. Manager of Audience Development on paid media strategy, A/B testing, analytics, and reporting. This position will serve under the Director of Marketing and Communications and co-create and then lead all social media KPI’s, and social media influencer strategy. The ideal candidate will drive strategy, creative approaches and unique youth-focused content and storytelling across On the Edge Conservations Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and TikTok. This position will work across the creative content team on developing social media storytelling and asset creation for both the 3D animated character driven YouTube series as well as our impact and conservation work.
A good understanding of youth focused storytelling marketing and a strong knowledge of youth culture as well as new technologies and digital trends is preferred.
Oversee, build and execute social media strategies (incl. individual platform strategies across TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)
Maintain and optimize social media content to improve overall performance against KPI’s on an ongoing basis
Set audience engagement and growth goals across all social platforms
Identify appropriate social media influencers and co-create social media influence strategy to aligning with our marketing strategy and objectives
Partner with the Sr. Manager of Audience Development on paid media strategy, A/B testing, analytics, and reporting
Lead social media content planning pipeline and calendar creation including social channel prioritization, social asset recommendations (images, video, etc.), copy and storytelling messaging development
Manage and optimize workflows to ensure efficiency and timely content publishing across all social channels. Works with staff to obtain approval of content and marketing communications prior to publication
Publishing and Engagement:
Publish content on all of OTEC’s social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok
Lead content upload on the On the Edge YouTube channel, following YouTube and organizational best practice
Build meaningful and relevant connections and conversations with existing and prospective followers. reply and engage with the community on all of OTEC’s Social Media Channels, switching between the different tones of voice.
Stay current in social media and digital marketing trends; continuing to educate wider teams on innovations and maintain social media leadership within the industry
Liaise between internal departments – creative and social media teams – and our external partners – freelancers and production company - ensuring smooth workflow and delivery of assets to schedule and budget
At least 5 years of social media storytelling experience with a demonstrable track record of success
A proven track record of social media influencer marketing experience
An understanding of paid social, social media reporting and post testing
Strong experience managing budgets, timelines and rights for social media assets
Excellent copywriting and editing skills, confident across multiple channels, and able to engage multiple demographics with your copywriting
Great understanding of the social media landscape, including all major platforms and channels, emerging trends, key campaigns and industry best practice
Family and children media experience is a bonus
